Our 3D gait analysis consultation is aimed at those with complex lower limb injuries, gait related issues or runners wanting an in-depth consultation regarding injury, optimising performance or advice on running footwear.
3D gait analysis allows you to truly understand why you have pain, the likely cause of injury & how running footwear & foot orthoses influence the lower limb. Using cutting edge technology 3D gait analysis provides the most accurate form of assessment for analysing running & walking motion. In-depth information with regards to injury risk, fatigue & performance can be provided.
We follow a 4 step approach that includes
Step 1. Clinical Assessment
Provides a detailed history of your presenting problem & analysis of the foot & ankle with regards to joint range of motion, strength & balance.
Step 3. RS Scan Pressure Analysis
Provides precise plantar pressure measurements, allowing accurate analysis of the foot during walking or running motion.
Step 4. 3D Gait Analysis
Provides accurate information regarding lower limb motion when running or walking in relation injury & performance & allows us to analyse how foot orthoses & footwear influence lower limb motion.
Step 4. Report & Treatment Options
Following a sports podiatry consultation your sports podiatrist will then discuss & fully explain their findings & recommend a treatment plan.
Through analysing the relationships or patterns during gait of the pelvis, hip, knee, lower leg, foot & ankle through the sagittal, frontal & transverse planes of movement we can better understand the possible cause of injury & ways to optimise your gait to reduce injury.
Performance parameters such as cadence, over stride, vertical motion & ground contact time are also measured & analysed.
Footwear/foot orthoses comparisons can be carried out to provide more accurate information as to which may be more optimal for you with regards to fatigue, reducing injury risk factors & optimising performance.
